I hope you have a lot of time on your hands because these shows are all v binge-worthy. Get out your comfiest all grey sweatpants ensemble, grab alll the snacks, cancel all your plans, cut off all social interaction and binge!

The Marvelous Ms. Maisel

The second season of this show just came out and it’s amazing, they basically go to a summer camp for adults for the full summer and it makes me wish I lived in New York in the 50’s. Prime Video sells this show by saying: “In 1958 New York, Midge Maisel’s life is on track– husband, kids, and elegant Yom Kippur dinners in their Upper West Side apartment. But when her life takes a surprise turn, she has to quickly decide what else she’s good at — and going from housewife to stand-up comic is a wild choice to everyone but her.” It’s a total comedy but also has some good life lessons wrapped up inside. It’s a super easy show to watch and Midge is super easy to relate to even though she’s living in a totally different era!

The Crown

Another show with a strong female lead! Clearly, Netflix is using its data mining well and suggesting shows to me that are similar to the last ones I watched. This show is about Queen Elizabeth II and her reign in the late 20th century. It’s filled with drama so you will never get bored (I can promise you that), plus her husband is like, super-hot, so you get some eye candy too!

Ozark

Here’s another drama which takes place in a totally opposite setting than the previous two shows. It’s about this guy who gets wrapped up with a Mexican drug cartel and basically ends up having to move his family to the Ozarks and get them all to help him with money laundering. He has two kids, a teenage girl and a younger boy who are both relatable enough to get you into the show. The Ozark islands are super interesting because it shows life in a small town which is also somewhat a vacation town — so you get a good mix of both!

Grace and Frankie

Moving astray from the dramas, Grace, and Frankie is an AMAZING comedy that you will never want to stop watching. It’s about two older women (Grace and Frankie) who could not be more opposite — except for the fact that both their husbands just came out of the closet and are now in a relationship with each other. Grace and Frankie end up moving in together to their beach house and tons of funny shit happens. Their kids and husbands are also super funny, there will never be an episode where you don’t laugh.

Atypical

This show was a super random find — and normally when I start a random show, I get bored after an episode or two and just go back to watching the office. Not this time! This show is super family oriented which is easy to relate to and really great. It’s about a Sam who is on the autism spectrum, the show starts out with Sam wanting to start dating but it has a ton of different plots that surround the whole family. Sam is such a great character and instead of putting a dramatic edge on the autism the show is super light and easy to watch!

The Sinner

This show is one of those shows that you should not start unless you have like 24 hours straight where you can just sit in bed and binge it up. Once you start you will never want to stop. It’s a mix of a drama and a thriller and has some crime aspects in it which I love. Basically, you’re following this woman who one day randomly stabs a guy to death. She doesn’t know why she did it and throughout the show, you basically follow her and the police and a ton of other people trying to figure out what caused her to do this! You will not be able to stop thinking about it until you finish.

Red Oaks

This show is on Prime Video and is so great. It’s about a country club in the summer and is just a super feel good, happy, funny, show. There isn’t much of a plot — but you follow along with the young staff partying through the summer. Everything about this show just screams happy, it’s so easy to watch. Not many people know about it either so you can totally start a trend and get your friends into it too and look super cool for finding a different TV show.

The Office

Okay — so I tried to give you some new ideas of shows to watch, but if you’re like me you will always go back to watching this classic show that can put anyone in a better mood. I could not count the number of times I’ve watched this show. When I come home after going out and can’t sleep — I watch the office. When I have a ton of school work that I’m too stressed about to finish — I watch the office. When I’m bored and have nothing to do — I watch the office. When I force myself to go for a run at the gym — I watch the office. If you’ve never seen it, I don’t know if you’re a real person — but this is a must watch show.

The Bachelor

Okay — I stayed away from reality TV for the majority of this article but I’m sorry — the next season of The Bachelor starts on Monday with Colton (read: super-hot, nice, ex-pro football player) as the bachelor and I just cannot wait to watch this show. It’s less binge watchy because you need to tune in every week, but it is a must watch show.

Hope these shows will get you through at least the first month of 2019!
