The Most Iconic Met Gala Looks

Claire Danes in Zac Posen, 2016

Theme: Manus x Machina, Fashion in an Age of Technology
Zac Posen is really out here making a girls disney princess dream come true. Claire Danes wore this stunning light up dress that gave us major Cinderella vibes. It only took a mere 600 hours to make- which is about the same amount it takes for me to get ready on any given night.
Rihanna in Guo Pei, 2015

Theme: China, Through The Looking Glass
If anyone knows how to make an entrance, it's our girl Riri. Her imperial yellow fur trimmed train was so insane it basically required that others make way for her entrance and that some peasants had to come help with her train. A diva’s dream. As usual, I loved how on point she was for the theme, since it is true Chinese Couture designed by Guo Pei. Rihanna always wins the Met Gala.
Beyonce in Givenchy, 2015

Theme: China, Through The Looking Glass
Queen B, who is also known to make an entrance, showed up to the Met Gala very late in a sheer number that made everyone and their aunt jealous of her curves. She hit the red carpet with Jay and made me almost forget about that whole elevator scandal that happened the year before. Queen of pretending like nothing ever happened. Like I always say, deny deny deny.
Cara Delevingne in Chanel, 2017

Theme: Commes des Garçons’ Rei Kawakubo
Clearly Cara is not one to shy away from taking fashion risks. Everything about this look was so creatively futuristic, from her painted on metallic pixie cut to the intricate glam Chanel suit and adorable Chanel rocket ship bag. How come when Cara shaves her head it's fashion but when I do it, everyone’s all like “72 hour involuntary psychiatric hold”.
Naomi Campbell in Atelier Versace, 1995

Theme: Haute Couture
Naomi sparkled in this crystal encrusted gown by Versace that was true to the haute couture theme. She’s literally GLOWING. I don't think i've ever wanted a dress more and I need it in my closet, like yesterday.
Gigi Hadid in Tommy Hilfiger, 2016

Theme: Manus x Machina, Fashion in an Age of Technology
Gigi and Zayn walked their first red carpet together looking like sexy robots in this look where high fashion meets modern machinery. The armour on her fingers and his metal sleeves are a unique touch that brings together their cohesive look. Gigi’s manicure apparently costs $2000 and I can barely afford a polish change. Extra AF, but i’m into it.
Kendall Jenner in La Perla, 2017

Theme: Commes des Garçons’ Rei Kawakubo
Kendall Jenner giving me more #bodygoals and a reason to start my summer diet ASAP due to her barely-there lingerie inspired sparkly dress. True to her Kardashian Klan roots, Kendall is not afraid of a little controversy and definitely amped it up by taking the naked dress to the next level. Somewhere Kris Jenner is nodding her head and repeating the mantra “there's no such thing as bad publicity” into a crystal ball.
Cher in Bob Mackie, 1971

Theme: Fashion Plate
Bow down bitches, to the queen of the “Naked Dress”. Cher honestly did it first all the way back in 1971. Her dress was so revolutionary that Kim Kardashian was inspired to recreate it for her Met look in 2015. Talk about iconic.
