Our Fav Celeb Looks from Weekend 1 of Coachella 2018
Coachella marks the beginning of festival SZN and we couldn’t be more excited!! Over the years, Coachella has become a star-studded playground for the hottest A-listers to show off their trendiest looks. What was once a festival for hippies and bohemian artists has now revived itself into the biggest social scene of the century. To be frank, an Instagram at Coachella with your #squad is like the most important photographed moment of your life (it beats any wedding album).
But, despite popular belief, it takes a lot more than some glitter and a plane ticket to pull off Coachella vibes. Arriving in style doesn’t just mean a few feathers, a flower crown and mirrored sunnies. Being ba$ic is lame. Especially in Indio, California where wide-brim hats outlive the deadly combo of desert heat and alcohol.
You see, Coachella is only cut out for those who can still keep their gems glued onto their faces in sweltering heat, after spending an hour raving on the shoulders of some drug lord. So when you’re picking your best Coachella outfit, keep in mind that you’ll probably find yourself stuck in a mosh-pit of Kylie Jenner wannabes and frat boys dropping acid while worshipping Bey. It’s inevitable.
Although, sequin glue, maxi skirts and gladiator sandals are not so compatible with desert conditions, we still gotta try. Just prepare to end the weekend sleep deprived and with hair that closely resembles a literal bird’s nest. So, for all those lucky bitches spending their weekend with bumping beats under the desert sun, hopefully you’ve already repaired the ‘chella big dent in your bank account. Cuz looking hot in the chicest outfit is your only chance at sneaking your way into VIP.
Pro tip: try not to look like a knock-off/gypsy version of Pocahontas. It ain’t cool anymore. Here are some of the winning celebrity Coachella looks from this past week to kindle inspiration on what to wear for round two:
LOOK #1: Alessandra Ambrosio
This VS angel was looking smokin’ hot this weekend. She paired black cut offs with a fishnet crop top, channeling her inner rocker chick. Her hair was tied by a red bandana in a half-up messy top knot. And most importantly, her Gucci fanny pack and Dior booties topped off the look. Fire AF.
LOOK #2: Taylor Hill
Taylor Hill embraces the recent unicorn-everything trend. She was looking iridescent and beautifully bejewelled in a pink/blue/purple colour scheme. Her tassel earrings and pink converse are a great touch to the outfit. Tay, let us know if those face gems remained intact after the oh-so-sweaty day.
LOOK #3: Bella Hadid
The Hadid sister was sporting a total ‘90s inspired look. A white crop with denim cut-offs is the perfect way to spend the day comfy and casual. She accessorized with a wide belt, gold hoops, glitzy body chain and scrunchy. Now this is a festival ensemble that can survive the wildest behaviour with zero worry of a wardrobe malfunction. Props to our girl Bella!
LOOK #4: Olivia Culpo
Former Miss Universe slays as always. She came dressed in a super cute white lace dress, taupe boots and fedora. Matched with a long pendent necklace and metallic earrings to complete the look. Her mini Louis V backpack and brown waisted belt proves, once again, that Culpo is the ultimate style icon. This outfit screams Coachella in a very boho-chic kind of way.
LOOK #5: Jasmine Tookes
VS model Jazzy Tookes makes her Coachella debut in a lace bustier and floral maxi skirt. While shielding herself from the Cali sun with a straw panama hat, she flaunts her enviable supermodel figure in this super cute festival number. This California native, tanned babe always comes dressed to impress, she really knows how to make a sartorial statement.
LOOK #6: Shay Mitchell
This PLL bombshell arrived in a black and white ensemble, keeping it simple, yet cute. She opted for a black off the shoulder top that ties at her cleavage, polishing off the look with white cut-off shorts and black booties. Slender black shades and a subtle Chanel purse kept Shay lookin’ chic and flawless. Steal some pointers from this style star for festival-esque summer inspo.
