As I was looking for a cute #tbt photo to post on insta to showcase the fact that I once had a semblance of innocence, I started #realizingthings like how many fashion trends from the 90s are making a comeback. Who would’ve thought our once fugly denim overalls and fanny packs our moms would make us wear would actually be found on runways and fashion bloggers alike. Also, super cool to see how we have taken a newer millennial approach to some of these old trends, whether it be changing the fit or layering. Take a ride down memory lane and check out some of the trends that are rallying.

Overalls
Overalls made a huge comeback this year after fashion blogger Danielle Bernstein came out with her own line of overalls. Here, we see them brought back to life with a more tighter fit on Bella Hadid, compared to Jen Anniston’s outdated slouchy pair.

Track Pants
My personal favourite trend on the list because I’m lazy AF and jeans are restricting to my eating habits. Track pants are back and here to stay now that athleisure has become a thing. Here we see our girl Gwen rocking them in the 90’s and Selena Gomez glamming up the look with heels and an elegant black bag. So chic.

Mom Jeans
Ok so this is a trend that took me awhile to get behind but I think with the right fit- high waisted mom jeans can really work and they can make your butt look amaze. Here we have Cindy Crawford wearing them in the 90s, versus Emily Ratajkowski (had to google the spelling of her last name for this) in them recently.

Round Sunglasses
With sunglasses, we spent the last decade in a world of oversized- the bigger the better pretty much. Recently this trend is starting to reverse as we are seeing smaller rounder sunglasses becoming more popular. Not going to lie, I find small sunglasses creepy and in my opinion, not even Gwyneth can make them look less creepy but whatever.

Mini Backpacks
This is my favourite trend on the list because I love the school girl look and this trend makes me feel like I belong in Clueless. Also, as someone who likes to carry a lot on her purse, these statement backpacks, although mini, tend to carry more than your average sized purse. Who knows when i’ll need six different shades of lipgloss, right? Here we have the look on Cher Horowitz and more recently on like everybody else.

The Choker
Chokers have come back as a trend for the past few years, but the way that they are being worn is evolving. Back in 2015, we started to see people wearing the thick black chokers, then it was all about wearing multiple dainty chokers together, now it’s really any choker goes.

Fanny Packs
This is a trend that I think I can only get behind if the fanny pack is designer. Since fanny packs are so inherently lame and reminiscent of your aunt on a trip to disneyland, the contrast of a luxe designer brand with a functional piece somehow works. TBH if you can’t afford designer, I would stay away from this trend. Here we have the Rock rocking the fanny pack (lol i’m sorry I had to) and many of today’s stars rocking different designer vaiations.
